Wrongtom meets The Ragga Twins – In Dub

‘In Dub’ is the new album of dub mixes by roots and reggae producer Wrongtom and Hackney’s veteran breakbeat/ jungle MC’s the Ragga Twins. Remixing tracks from their ‘In Time’ album, Wrongtom dissects and then rebuilds each track with a new lease of life. Wrongtom Meets The Ragga Twins – In Time

The new album from WrongTom and the legendary Ragga Twins is now available to pre-order. “In Time” takes the Twins back to their roots in dub and digital reggae, before they entered the world of rave and breakbeats.
As ever, WrongTom’s production is completely on point, hitting that authentic dancehall retro sound, without sounding like a cliched throw back. It sounds like Tom was making dancehall dub in the 80’s and has never stopped, and believe us you don’t want him to!

WrongTom – Possessed EP

wrongtomWrongTom returns with a new EP, “Possessed EP”. Taking the Possessed rhythm and getting different vocalists to flex their styles over it. With the likes of Tippa Irie, Ragga Twins, Deemus J and more, this is digital dancehall dub, done in the best possible fashion.
Released on 12″ single and digital through Tru Thoughts, this is a must for all reggae fans.

The Casual Sexists – World of Noise

New wave, punk, electronic pop group The Casual Sexists have just released their new single, ‘World Of Noise’. Released on WrongTom‘s Rongorongo label, the single features a dub version by WrongTom, one of the more out there dubs we’ve heard from him. Roger Robinson – ‘Ashes To Fire’ video

DJ Vadim – Depend On I (Dub Version)

The ever busy DJ Vadims latest project sees him dubbing it up with the new album, “The Dubcatcher” forthcoming on BBE Records.
According Vadim, “This is the first snippet from the forthcoming new album – Dubcatcher. Its part of a new series to show the different faces of me. So there will be a ‘Soulcatcher’, ‘Beatcatcher’ and ‘Rimecatcher’ to highlight the main facets of moi!”
Interesting movements are a foot for DJ Vadim, looking forward to all these releases. For now grab, “Depend On I” for free!

Benjamin One – The Clash EP

benoneBristol producer Benjamin One returns with a new ep on the Ghost Locust Music label. “The Clash” EP is a tasty mix of hip hop beats, electronic bass, and a large helping of dub.
Three tracks long, you can hear influences from electronica, future beats side of hip hop, dubstep, jungle and dub reggae. Lot’s of skippy hi-hats, heavy bass lines mixed with hard, crunching beats and dancehall vocal samples.
This marks a welcome return from Benjamin, and we hope there’s a whole lot more to come. Grab the EP from the Ghost Locust Music bandcamp site, and as ever, feel free to make a donation.

Mark Professor – Oystah Card

rongo“Oystah Card” is the first release on the new Rongorock label. The 7″ sinlge is produced by label owner WrongTom, with the vocals supplied by Mark Professor from the Wreck-It Up Crew.
The pairing work perfectly together, creating infectious party tune singing the praises of London’s favourite method of transport payment. The chorus is just so catchy, it gets stuck in your head and you will be humming it every time you swipe in and out or your destination.

The single is already gaining attention from the likes of Rob Da Bank and reggae royalty David Rodigan. Check out the snippet below from Rodigans show, then rush out to shops to buy your copy on August 26th.

Spin Doctor – The Cover Up

coverupThe Spin Doctor has just unleashed this excellent new mix consisting purely of cover versions.
Spin Doctor is now pretty much a permanent fixture on London’s hip hop club scene, if there is a good night going down, you’re sure to see him spinning.
Here he takes some of his favourite cover versions, including covers of Nas, ODB, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and more, blending them perfectly together to create a really enjoyable mix from start to finish.
According to the good Doctor, “I have been collecting covers for a minute now and decided to start putting together this series of The Cover Up mixes…I’m planning an all Hip-Hop mix, a Motown special, a Beatles selection, a Reggae mix and more like this with just a bunch of my fave covers so keep your eyes and ears peeled for more.”
