The premise is one artists submits a track, in this case Pete Sasqwax, it then gets passed to the next artists to remix, then to the next to remix the remix and so on. LA based Concontenttent Label has just dropped a tasty free sampler featuring some of its best artists. Curated by label boss DDay One the sampler features tracks by 2econd Class Citizen, Dextah, Glen Porter, and of course DDay himself. When describing the label DDay One said, “We believe that ‘content’ which emanates from profoundness adds value to the lives of those that create it and support it and as a label we function as a bridge to facilitate the exchange.”

The 3rdcover remix chain from Shinobi Cuts is now available for download. If you don’t know the premise, one artists creates a track, the next remixes that track, the next remixes the remixes and so on.
This time round the original track comes from San Diego’s DJ Pnutz, providing a storming mix of banging beats, wailing guitars and more. Then the track goes on to be remixed by the likes of Digital Midgets, Pete Sasqwax, Bobby Corridor and more, including our own LongDistanceDan. DJs and muBox-booklet-01sic historians Greg Caz and Deano Sounds have teamed up to bring the world a beautiful package of vintage Brazilian music, selected with discerning and funky Brazilian music fans in mind.
The Brasileiro Treasure Box of Funk & Soul spans an infectious and impressive range of funk, soul, and psychedelic music from 1970s Brazil. Some highlights include: the extremely rare and funky “Labirinto” by 2001 & Beto; the blistering psychedelic funk of Antônio Carlos & Jocafi’s “Quem Vem Lá”; the essential rare groove track “Bananeira” by Emilio Santiago; Osmar Milito E Quarteto Forma’s rare “América Latina” (sampled by Madlib on Madvillain’s Raid); Tom Zé’s unstoppable riff on “Jimmy, Renda-Se”; and many others.
The 45 box set version comes in a durable glossy case with 7 x 45s, a poster containing the original artwork for the album, and a booklet printed on thick paper.

Black Box Tapes – The Shape Of Things To Come

Left-field rashapepper and Anticon hero, Sole has a new label coming straight out of Denver.
Black Box Tapes is a new experimental hip hop and electronic label, although as time goes on they aim to go beyond these genres and simply release music they love.
‘The Shape Of Things To Come’ is a free label sampler featuring the likes of Skyrider, Mans Best Friend, Walter Gross and more. The tracks featured are definitely interesting and makes us excited for what is to come from this new label.
